Wednesday Trailer: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenna Ortega in Netflix Show | IndieWire

As Netflix releases the first trailer of Wednesday, we couldn’t help but click on the “Remind me” button, so we watch it once it’s available.

Netflix describes the Wednesday series as a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

The coming-of-age- dark comedy is directed by Tim Burton and written by Al Gough and Miles Millar.

This dark comedy stars Jenna Ortega as she plays the titular character and is front and center of the family with a stern face and characteristic braids. She was joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, who play Morticia and Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez who plays her brother Pugsley.

Wednesday will arrive on Netflix later this year, in fall 2022, as stated in the show’s trailer. There is not yet an exact, confirmed release date for Wednesday‘s premiere, but horror filmmaker Rob Zombie also revealed that the show would air this fall in a recent post shared to Instagram. Rob is the writer, director, and producer of The Munsters, Netflix’s upcoming film reboot of the ’60s sitcom that followed the ordinary lives of a family of monsters.
