Cakewalk starring Esha Deol as the main protagonist, is her come back in a self assured role. The film depicts the life and times of a Master chef runner’s up facing her ex husband – not face to face. but through a cake she makes for him on his first wedding anniversary. The film is the story between the Robert Brault quote – ‘Life becomes easier when you learn to accept an apology you never got’ and an actual apology at the end. The film seems to be shrunk to size and the entire narrative could have done with in depth scenes on discord in the marriage, divorce and moving on.
