Abu Dhabi ranked the world’s safest city; Dubai ranks at 8

For the 6th time Abu Dhabi has been ranked the safest city in the world

The three UAE emirates have been ranked in the top 10 safest cities in the world, ahead of cities like Zurich and Monaco.

The crowd-sourced Numbeo list ranks 459 cities and Abu Dhabi has ranked number one for the 6th consecutive year, with Sharjah and Dubai at ranks 4 and 8 respectively. With a safety index of 88.4, Abu Dhabi has retained its place as a safe and secure place to work, live and invest in.

Based on user feedback, Numbeo creates questions related to cost of living, safety, pollution and crime. Abu Dhabi had been ranked ‘very low’ in the areas of crime, fear of being mugged or robbed and drug use. The city also scored a ‘very high’ rank in terms of feeling safe when walking alone.

The UAE even recently topped the list of countries where residents feel safe walking alone at night. Around 95% of the residents validated to this in Gallup’s 2021 Global Law and Order report.
