Actors unleash their inner poets!

While we love our Bollywood stars for their impressive screen skills, looks like acting is not their only forte. Time and again many of these actors have proven to be multifaceted artists as well. While some are known to be good painters, others are good singers, and yet some others dabble beautifully with words. Here’s taking a look at poets of the fraternity:

Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon is a reigning Instagram poetess. She often places her thoughts through poems in her captions. Sanon frequently dedicates her poetry to her loved ones. She also dedicated a poem to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput after his unfortunate demise in June.

Tabu
Not many know about this talent of the acting great Tabu! But the star is a closet poet and loves to write on varied topics from love to life. And those who’ve read her works, say they’re as beautiful as her performances on screen.

Siddhant Chaturvedi
Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who won hearts with his cool rap battles onscreen in Gully Boy, has a lot more to offer. Siddhant is also a poet and often shares his poems on Instagram. His poems are seeped in life’s ways and philosophies and carry a deep meaning.

Taapsee Pannu
After critically acclaimed films like Thappad, Pink, Badla, Taapsee Pannu revealed her poetic side with a poem called ‘Pravasi’, where she voiced the plight of migrants. Tapsee’s narration along with animations was heart-wrenching.

Ravi Dubey
All of us who have seen the television series Saas Bina Sasural and Jamai Raja know what an incredible actor Ravi is. His poetic sensibility is just as great. He recently released a video where he narrates his poem titled ‘Aankde’ which speaks of the industry’s obsession with number crunching and defining success by these numbers rather than talent.

Ayushmann Khurrana
If we got a dollar for every time Ayushmann Khurrana disclosed a talent, we’d be quite wealthy. The actor, singer and anchor with great comic timing and a sense for beats is also a poet. He has written several poems and has shared them time and again with his fans.

Sushant Singh Rajput
The late Sushant Singh Rajput had an eye for all things intricate and deep. He often penned down poems on love, life, and loss, some of which were dedicated to his late mother whom he loved dearly.

Hrithik Roshan

India’s own superhero and an exceptional actor Hrithik Roshan turned poet for his son’s birthday. He wrote a poem titled ‘Darr Se Mat Darr’ and received much praise from his fans as well as his friends in B-Town.

Kalki Koechlin
Noise, The Printing Machine, Reading Between the Lines are enough to speak of Kalki Koechlin’s poetic finesse. Kalki’s writing is nuanced and often sheds light on contemporary issues.

Farhan Akhtar
Like Amitabh Bachchan, son of renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar has also inherited his father’s poetic prowess. Farhan Akhtar’s poems in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara were much appreciated. He recently made a COVID version of the famous ‘Toh Zinda Ho Tum’.
