Babil pens emotional notes for his Baba on Irrfan’s first death anniversary

It’s been a year since Bollywood lost one of its greatest actors on April 29, 2020

Today marks Irrfan’s first death anniversary. One of Bollywood’s greatest actors, the actor had passed away on April 29 last year (2020) after a long battle with cancer. And the actor, who wowed movie-lovers across the globe and redefined boundaries when it came to cinema, is being missed by industry folks, fans, friends, but most of all his family. Son, upcoming actor Babil took to social media to share some emotional notes and recall memories of his late Baba.

Alongside posting a pic of Irrfan working on making a table, Babil wrote: “Chemo burns you from the inside, so to find joy in the simple things, like building your own table to write your own journals. There is a purity, I have not yet discovered. There is a legacy that has already been concluded by my Baba himself. A full stop. Nobody can ever replace him. Nobody will ever be able to. To the greatest best friend, companion, brother, father, I ever had and ever will have. I love you so much, for the rest of this chaos we are choosing to call life.”

He adds: “I miss you, more than all that shah-Jahan/Mumtaz stuff; I would have built a space monument that could have taken us to the furthest parts of a blackhole singularity you were always intrigued by, but I would have been there with you Baba, and we could have gone together, hand in hand. (Exploring the last mysteries).”

The legendary star has to his credit cinematic gems like Qissa, The Namesake, The Lunchbox, Maqbool, Paan Singh Tomar, Life of Pi, amongst several other films that’ve seen him deliver power-packed performances in.
