Bollywood’s guide to ethnic wear

Ethic wear has is something that Bollywood does better than anyone! Over the years there have been many characters and character outfits that changed the course of fashion. Let’s see some of those ethnic wear!

Kareena in K3G
Kareena’s pastel pink shara in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham was a game changer. Always having been a style icon Kareena pulled this off beautifully.

Desi girl
Priyanka’s golden saree from dostana was an elegant piece of ethnic wear with just a little western touch. With this Bollywood made many young fans turn to ethnic outfits.

Girl in white
Kalank was gold mine of ethnic outfits worn by Alia Bhatt. Her embroidered all white lehenga in the song Ghar More Pardesiya was every bit as elegant and gorgeous as she herself is! When is doubt about what to wear for your bestfriend’s mehendi, go with this monochrome outfit.

Badtameez dil
You had to see this coming! I mean, which Bollywood fan from 2013 onwards didn’t want to wear Deepika’s cobalt blue, sequin bordered saree at least once for their farewell or a cousin’s sangeet, right?

The green fever
All of Madhuri’s outfits from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun made a style statement in the past years. But, the one that has still stuck around is that one green lehenge.

Nimbooda
It’s impossible to not add one of the most iconic outfits in this list. Aishwarya’s aquamarine lehenge choli from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is being recreated even after two decades.

Deewani Mastani
This Dhani coloured ensemble from Bajirao Mastani had a huge cultural impact. The full sleeved backless Anarkali complete with the persian hat and palazzo pants was chosen by a lot of brides for their nikaah.

Well, I for one can’t choose a favourite from these outfits. But, which one is yours?
