Cafe Jolie, City Walk

Cafe Jolie at CityWalk 2 is a delightful place to visit. Themed under flowers, the place vibrates with a gentle floral ambience and has a generous sprinkling of fresh flowers in the restaurant as well. I was greeted by the Operations Manager Shiromi Anklesaria who is not just passionate about food but intrinsically knows what food lovers would like. I was served the exotic Iced Rose Cardamom Chai Latte, their house speciality. The beverage arrives with a touch of drama and adds an exotic touch to the evening and sets the mood. The place has an extensive vegetarian menu and I was served the ‘Avocado Toast with Beetroot Hummus & Grilled Halloumi’ and a ‘Quinoa Butternut Squash Salad’ that had baby spinach, maple roasted butternut squash, mixed nuts & seeds with dried cranberries, creamy Feta cheese with honey mustard dressing. The portions are large and sumptuous, the food fresh and served with great finesse and aesthetics. Then came the very delectable ‘Wild Mushroom & Artichoke Vol Au Vent’ that was a creamy wild mushroom with truffle oil and artichoke sauce.

My friend who is non vegetarian reveled in her ‘Pistachio Crusted Salmon’ that was served With baby asparagus, roasted red pepper, creamed mashed potato & creamy lemon butter chive sauce. With meal rounded up with floral tea and the prima donna of the evening – the Swedish Princess Cake that is a moist vanilla sponge cake, layered with cream patisserie, jam & fresh cream, encased with Marzipan. A place where you can sit, converse for long hours over food and soak in the light fragrance of flowers the restaurant is inspired by.
