Exclusive: After the hard-hitting Aankde, Ravi Dubey’s next ‘Sharmaji Ka Beta’ to take a dig at competition

After garnering a stupendous response for his hard-hitting poetry Aankde and its narration, actor-director and now poet, Ravi Dubey has yet another surprise lined up for his fans. The actor has penned yet another poem that he plans to narrate and release soon. This one is titled: ‘Sharmaji Ka Beta,’ and like his previous poem carries a beautiful message too.

In an exclusive chat with FilmfareME, the actor when asked about penning more such poems, revealed, “My next poetry is titled ‘Sharmaji Ka Beta’ and it’s about the competitive streak that’s injected in us from the time we head to school at a very tender age. You know how the society tends to suffocate our self-worth is what this poem is all about.” While the actor shares that the poem, the title of which is a generally-used metaphor to show a comparison, is ready, he is yet to work on its narration as it’s almost fifteen minutes long. The actor also adds that this one has a few humorous jibes too.

Talking about his inspiration behind writing and the strong message that his poems carry, the actor says that while he’s not a poet per se, he does write often. As for the phenomenal response his hard-hitting poem Aankde has been receiving from all across including the industry, the actor says that he’s touched and thrilled with the response. “The idea was to convey that our skill sets and our craft will outlast these number games that we as artistes are subjected to. I just feel that we should be thinking about creativity rather than doing things only to score those points, because in the end the number-games will keep changing, but our skill-sets will always be ours, so that was the whole idea,” shares Ravi, who during the lockdown even directed his first music-video in which he is co-starring with his wife, actress, Sargun Mehta. Sung by Badshah and Payal Dev, the song is called Toxic.  Check it out:  https://youtu.be/Ij3MThuCbu4

Well, here’s hoping that the Jamai 2.0 actor releases his new poem soon. Looking forward to this one Ravi Dubey!
