It’s that time of the year when prayers reverberate in pandals and houses, people get to the streets to sing and dance and welcome Bappa. Hearing conch shells and loud drums is no surprise when Bappa is home, but this year it’s all but an unsettling silence, though the prayers in our hearts are louder and more earnest.
