Going bananas for beauty: Try these 5 banana masks to add that glow!

Bananas are the ultimate fruit, they’re filling, tasty and available through the year. Not only that, the Minions dedicated an entire song to bananas too. In case you’re still not satisfied with how incredible bananas are, here’re 5 masks to try out to see it for yourself:


The All-Banana Mask
Bananas are rich in potassium, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. They’re a great source for anti aging and skin tightening. Just blend or mash up a ripe banana and apply it over your face and neck. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse it with cold water.

The Acne Mask
Turmeric is a great anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory item and it combined with the goodness of bananas and yogurt, makes quite an effective mask to fight off acne.  Just mash a whole ripe banana in a bowl with a teaspoon of turmeric, and 6 tablespoons of yogurt. Keep the mask for 15-20 minutes and wash it off.

The Moisturising Pack
Banana and honey and coconut oil moisturises the skin and hydrates the skin cells. It also enables the skin to absorb the moisture and nourish itself. All you need is a ripe banana, mashed and mixed with 2 tablespoons of honey and a teaspoon of coconut oil. Apply the paste on your face and leave it to dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Nourishing Hair mask
Bananas and eggs are a great combination for healthy and lustrous hair. They replenish the hair’s lost nutrients and help in hair growth. For this, you have to mix an egg with a medium-sized ripe banana. Apply the hair mask from your scalp to the tips of your hair and leave it on for 15-30 minutes then rinse it off with cold water.

Healing Hair Mask
The vitamin-rich bananas and healing coconut oil penetrates through the hair and replenishes its nutrients. It makes the hair healthier and adds volume to it. You will need a whole banana and two tablespoons of coconut oil for this mask. Mix them well. Use a blender if you wish to. Keep the mask on your hair for 30-45 minutes and then rinse it off with a good shampoo.
