Eating healthy is one of the most important steps to help boost your immune system. And one of the best ways to do this is to include this list of vegetables and fruits to your diet. 

Note: No supplement will cure or prevent a disease. In the case of the current situation, only social distancing and proper hygiene practices can help you prevent covid-19.

 

Citrus Fruits

The one vitamin that everyone turns to to boost their immune system is Vitamin C.

Vitamin C is known to boost your immune system and helps you recover from a cold quicker. It’s a good thing that Vitamin C is not only available in the form of supplements but is also present in most of your citrus fruits that you can add to your meals anytime.

The most popular citrus fruits include grapefruit, oranges, tangerines, clementines, lemons and limes.

 

 Ginger and Garlic

This combination is one that most mothers turn to when someone falls sick. It may help with a sore throat, inflammatory illness and may also help with nausea as well.

One drink that includes ginger went viral during the peak of the pandemic. The drink includes boiling ginger, turmeric, cloves, pepper in water and then drinking it everyday to help with strengthening your immunity. Although this is one of the home remedies that everyone turned towards when the pandemic reached its peak.

 

Broccoli

Packed with minerals and vitamins, this is one of the most important vegetables that can help boost your immune system. Broccoli is packed with vitamins A, C and E, as well as fiber and many other antioxidants.

According to research, the best way to have broccoli is to cook them as little as possible. The best way is to steam them to keep more nutrients in the food.

 

Almonds

One of the keys to a good immune system is said to be almonds. Containing Vitamin E, almonds are antioxidants that also contain healthy fats.

As adults are required to have only 15mg of vitamin E everyday, about 46 whole, shelled almonds, provides around 100 percent of the recommended daily amount.

And finally let’s not forget your usual intake of proteins like poultry and shellfish that contain zinc and vitamin B-6.
