Writer-filmmaker Faruk Kabir’s latest film Khuda Haafiz that released on the OTT platform, has been highly appreciated with fans giving it a thumbs-up. Kabir now has another reason to celebrate.
The Screenwriters Association of India (SWA) – which is dedicated to screenwriters and lyricists of Hindi feature films, television shows and web series – has announced the SWA Awards 2020 and Faruk Kabir’s movie 377 Ab-Normal has been nominated for Best Screenplay in the Gender Sensitive Category. Inspired by true events, the ZEE5 Original film was very well-received by audiences and critics as well.
Kabir says, “I’m so glad my film continues to receive love and this nomination for the SWA Awards 2020 means a lot. I decided to work on this subject because it drew my curiosity as to how the law got abolished and who were the people who were involved in protesting against it. I felt there was a poignant human drama waiting to be told and I wanted to explore it cinematically.”

Meanwhile, the filmmaker is currently working on scripting the sequel of the Vidyut Jammwal starrer Khuda Haafiz that was released on Disney+ Hotstar in August. Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under Panorama Studios, the action thriller also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi, Annu Kapoor, Aahana Kumra and Shiv Panditt.
