Manish Malhotra’s Ruhaaniyat in Lakme Fashion week

Manish Malhotra is one of the most illustrious designer of the nation and he completed 30 years of honest effort and hard-work in the industry this year. He’s been setting trends for three decades now and still continues to do so. In September 2020, Rangeela (1995) completed it’s 25 years, the film bagged Malhotra his first Filmfare award for costume designing and he went on to dress an entire generation of Bollywood since then, while also increasing the artistic of his private label which also turned 15 this year.

On the last day of the six day event of India Couture Week 2020, designer released his latest collection ‘Ruhaaniyat: A celebration called life’ as a film, the first ever finale on a virtual platform brought a lot of appreciation for him. The film features Janhvi Kapoor who makes transient appearances throughout, she added to the serenity of the film beautifully.

Technology expounded and embellished Manish’s work and led him to do the opening show of Lakme Fashion Week on October the 20th. “Ruhaaniyat is a fashion couture film and it’s a tribute to all the artisans and crafts people and the traditional textile of India”, said the designer. He also took his social media handle to announce the association of Ruhaaniyat with Mijwan, which is an NGO run by Shabana Azmi, Amrita Goyal and himself, the NGO also happen to be completing 10 years.


Manish Malhotra has all the more reasons to celebrate and we are all awaiting Ruhaaniyat coming to Lakme Fashion Week in a new avatar as promised by the designer.
