The musical love story Shyamaragam (Malayalam) and ‘Paartha Vizhi Paartha Padi’ (Tamil) directed by Sethu Eyyal, (the former manager of veteran music director and legend Dakshinamoorthy) is set to release soon. It was his last film. In fact, he passed away a week after the songs of the film were recorded. Interestingly, the film has all four generations of J Yesudas’s family’s voices – Augustine Joseph, Yesudas’s father, whom the master musician directed in the movie Nalla Thanka and Velakkaran; Yesudas himself in the innumerable songs that are hallmark of the Dakshinamoorthy-Yesudas pair; Vijay Yesudas for Idanazhiyil Oru Kalocha; and Ameya (Vijay’s daughter) in Shyamaragam.
Debutantes Pranav Suresh and Praseeda Uday form the lead pair. The film is marked by the presence of the legendary Y.G Mahendra and his wife Sudha Mahendra, who play a strong onscreen couple along with their own daughter Madhuvanthi who slips into the role of their onscreen daughter.
Eyyal took five years to complete the film. An award-winning creative artist, he was further nurtured and moulded by Late Lohithadas, one of the legendary directors who has contributed numerous commercially hit classic movies. Shyaamaragam, is scripted by National Award winner Matambu Kunjukuttan who has also written the screenplay. The nightingale of South India K.S Chithra has sung the lyrics of Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and Rafeeq Ahmed.
Produced by K.Vijayalakshmi and Leena Anandan, under “New Era Creations”,the dances in the film are choreographed by
Padmabhushan V.P Dhananjayan master and Santha Dhananjayan and cinematographed by Madhu Madassery.
Vijayakumari, A V Anoop, Santhosh Kizhattoor, Shanthi Krishna, and Amal Raj are also a big part of the movie. Other actors include Radheyan, Anandan, Krittika Pradeep and Rohith.
Its Tamil remake has Jim Jose as art director while the editors are Baiju Kurup and Jaifel Jaifu.
