Phenomenal actor Stanley Tucci opens the teaser with a statement that has us intrigued. “Everything you know is a lie,” he says. The tiny clip is creating mini waves in anticipation of the trailer that’s to be released soon.
Set in the near future, the espionage thriller is a play of identities, with characters of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden as top spies who work for a global spy organisation Citadel, that’s pro humanity. As a foil to Citadel is a new agency that caters exclusively to the interests of the rich and elite, creating two starkly opposing views and a struggle about the rights and wrongs for humanity. The characters face duality, the story forces you to think. Russo Brothers Anthony and Joe direct the unique series.
Citadel is the first-ever global TV series, with a main English show, and local offshoots around the world, starring local talent. So far, about 6 countries are working on the spin-offs, with the Indian version being shot with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Citadel will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 28.
