Fresh off the success of his collaborative effort alongside American hip hop artist Hi-Rez and hip-hop legend Royce Da 5’9 on ‘Crossroads’, Indian rap artist KR$NA is gearing up for yet another banger of a release.
Produced by Kalamkaar, ‘Roll Up’ released on 29th January 2021 will mark the maiden collaboration between hip hop tastemakers KR$NA and Badshah
The potent track delivers rap verses embracing the duo’s signature style coupled with a free-flowing hook whilst throwing some shade on the hip-hop-influenced lifestyle of the millennial generation, supported by a glossy video that embraces the familiar hip-hop staples
KRSNA states, “I put together the track with a very easy-going vibe in mind, something that you can listen to while driving or chilling with your friends, but I made it a point to keep my rap verse potent in terms of lyrics. Young people today are very influenced by the hip hop lifestyle and that’s reflective in this track”. Teaming up with an artist like Badshah on the song takes it a notch higher as he is a true embodiment of the hip hop lifestyle”
Badshah adds, “It’s an extremely exciting collaboration because KR$NA is one of the most prolific writers we have right now and he’s established himself as one of the best rappers in the scene. It’s really exciting for both his fans and my fans, also I think it’ll take the Delhi hip hop scene to greater heights! I feel like it’s coming at the right time and the hip hop scene has never looked better. There might be many more KR$NA, Badshah collaborations…you never know!”
Marking a first of sorts, a Roll Up Game has been devised by Paris-based independent digital music distribution and artist services company Believe to market the track amongst global audiences. This will be the first time a rapper from India will be utilizing a racing game to promote a new release. In the game the player driving a car needs to collect coins and save himself from barricades and the police.
