The filmmaker who celebrates his birthday today revealed the film’s theatrical release date
Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi had created a huge buzz since its announcement in 2019. The Bollywood star’s surprise cameo in Simmba (2018) had predicted Akshay’s introduction in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe following Singham and Simmba and the fans were not disappointed. The filmmaker soon announced Akshay’s Sooryavanshi also starring Katrina Kaif. The film that had seen prolonged delay in release due to the global pandemic is finally ready to hit the theatres on April 30.
The Karan Johar film that crosses paths with the other two cops – Bajirao Singham and Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba – will also have extended cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. Bollywood money-spinner Akshay Kumar took to his social media to share the news. He posted: “Sooryavanshi : Because A Promise Is A Promise We promised you all a cinematic experience and that’s what you will get…the wait is finally over! Aa Rahi Hai Police👮 #Sooryavanshi releasing worldwide in cinemas on 30th April 2021.” The post was accompanied with a video that shared how the trailer of the film was launched a year ago on March 2, 2020 and the footage of the trailer launch. Also accompanying the star on stage alongwith Katrina and Rohit were Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn.

Meanwhile, close on the heels of Sooryavanshi – two weeks after the film’s release – Salman Khan will be ready with his Eid release Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.
The Prabhudeva directed film that also stars Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff will hit the theatres on May 13.
