Shaktimaan: Mukesh Khanna reveals plans of a 3-film franchise of his popular superhero

As per reports, the actor and creator of the show is already in talks with a young star to play TV’s much-loved superhero Shaktimaan on the big screen

Indian television’s very own superhero Shaktimaan is all set to return, but not on the small screen. Instead, as per reports, actor Mukesh Khanna is planning to revive his TV character on the big screen. The much-popular superhero series – that had Khanna play the titular role of the caped crusader as well as his photo-journalist alter-ego – was quite a rage when it first released in the 90s. And even its reruns later on, as well as is in the recent lockdown, enjoyed as much fandom.

According to reports, Khanna is planning a three film franchise for the superhero and the first installment is expected to go on the floors next year (2021). Khanna is already said to be in talks with a young star to reprise the superhero for the big screen, while the director is yet to be finalised.

Khanna and Dinker Jani who were the creators of the show would be the creative producers of the film. Reports say that the story of the film would date as far back as the Mahabharata.
