Popular TV star Sriti Jha’s much-loved show Kumkum Bhagya recently completed six years on air and the actress couldn’t be happier. The show that has reigned on the TRP charts over the years has her star opposite television heartthrob Shabir Ahluwalia. While the Ekta Kapoor production has been much-loved over the years, what’s kept it going strong is the onscreen chemistry the two stars share and the Pragya-Abhi pair commands a huge fanbase across the globe as well. So, when we recently caught up with Sriti over an InstaLive chat session, we asked the star about her first impression of her co-actor Shabir.
Sriti revealed that while she was still finding a foothold in the industry, Shabir was already an established star when they came together for the Zee TV show. “My first impression of Shabir was like meeting a star and I still maintain that I’m a lucky fan who got to work with him and that hasn’t changed,” laughs the actress. Sriti adds, “With time we have become better friends. He is such a kind human being and I’m always in awe of him! Also, he’s so spontaneous as an actor. I love doing scenes with him because it’s like being at an amusement park… you just don’t know what’s going to happen next.”
When asked about the one thing that she has imbibed from him over the years, Sriti says that it has to be his non-judgemental attitude towards people. “You know he gives everyone a chance. He’s nonjudgemental about people, and he truly believes in each to their own. He’s a chilled out person, in fact, he truly defines chill!” says Sriti.
