Stars Dancing on Earth: An Inside Look at the Ambani-Piramal Sangeet

Ever since Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding invites hit the internet, we knew we were going to witness the potentially the biggest, fattest Indian wedding of the year and following this wedding season we are not making this statement lightly. Last night, the Ambanis kicked off their pre-wedding celebrations with the sangeet and like every other celebration in the Ambani family, the sparkling event in Udaipur was attended by Bollywood’s biggest household names. The celebrities turned out their best looks and here are some of our favourites:

Beyoncé turned heads in this stunning custom indo-western creation by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The figure-hugging ensemble accentuates the singer’s iconic curves. We love how cohesively the Indian and Western elements are combined. The traditional red Kachiwork fabric with the statement beaded shoulders, thigh-high slit and fishnet stockings all come together perfectly in this look.

What really ties the look together is the detail in the accessories and makeup. The striking maang tika draws attention to her bold brows and eye look. Focusing the depth to her eyes with a dark crease and a winged liner balances out the soft contour and neutral lip. This paired with the chandelier earrings and bracelets really give the look that va va voom!

The singer then changed up her look for her performance in this exquisitely detailed gold bodysuit by Falguni Shane Peacock, the embroidery on this has honestly left us speechless, it is excellently crafted and true to Beyoncé’s stage style with a stunning Indian flair and we are living for it.

Red seems to be a popular choice amongst our faves as Deepika Padukone donned a gorgeous ruby red sari by Fabiiana. We especially love the duality in the look as it is modest in the front and sultry in the back; this is displayed in many components. The blouse is a mock turtleneck in the front, the backless cut adding a touch of edge. This is also eminent in the draping of the sari, traditional from the front but exaggerated in the back. These touches emphasize her slim figure, an excellent styling choice by Shaleena Thani.

This duality is echoed in makeup and choice of accessories. Her hair, styled by Georgiou Gabriel looks demure from the front, the middle parting allowing for the newlywed to place her sindoor with the added volume and lengthy low ponytail in the back. Deepika chose to keep it traditional and wear her wedding bangles to the occasion and we absolutely love the classic, traditional touch. Deepika also chose to go for a bold eye look with a neutral lip and we love it. The thick winged liner draws attention to her beautiful doe-like eyes and compliments her features beautifully.

Jhanvi Kapoor killed it in this stunning Reem Acra gown. The look is simple, understated and elegant. The column dress with the fitted bodice and lace train flatters her slim figure and add length to the actress’ petite silhouette.

The young actress decided to go for an understated makeup look with flushed dewy cheeks, minimal eye makeup and a stunning red lip. Her hair, like her makeup, is sleek and polished, the look has an air of understated glamour and we think she looks beautiful.

Vidya Balan switched up her style and opted for a beautiful emerald coloured lehenga accented with gold embroidered detailing by Mint Blush Designs. We love this styling choice by who What Wore What When on her because it deviates from her usual choice of a sari. It is a more youthful choice but still true to her more modest style with the high neckline, full sleeves and high-waisted skirt and we love that for her!

Her makeup, hair and accessories also complimented the look without taking away from it. The long straight locks with the minimalistic makeup show versatility and are giving us major Parineeta vibes.
