Storytime With Sonam: Sonam Kapoor speaks up about her struggles with PCOS!

The Bollywood star has revealed her experiences of recovering from PCOS and also shared pointers that can help women suffering from them as part of the series ‘Storytime with Sonam’ that Sonam K Ahuja has kickstarted on her Instagram handle

Sonam K Ahuja née Kapoor has always been vocal when it comes to expressing her opinions. She’s been equally forthright when it comes to addressing women’s issues at large. And now she’s gone a step ahead to address another issue that many, women across the world, suffer from – PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Synrome) or PCOD. Although it’s not the first time that the actress is speaking about her PCOS, it’s the first time that she’s sharing inputs from her own experience on how to deal with it better.

Kickstarting ‘Storytime With Sonam’ in what looks like will be a series of topics that Sonam will address on her IG handle, the actress speaks about the common, but painful hormonal disorder and shares her experiences of suffering from it. While talking about her own struggles with PCOS Sonam also provides some pointers that many women can benefit from.

PCOS, or PCOD, is a very common condition that a lot of women live with. It’s also an extremely confusing condition since everyone’s cases, symptoms and struggles are different. I’ve finally figured out what helps me after years of trying several diets, workouts and routines, and I want to share my tips for managing PCOS with you! Having said that, PCOS manifests in different ways, and I urge you to visit a doctor before you self-medicate or self-prescribe,” reads her post.

In the video that Sonam shared along with the post, the actress shares some very helpful and beneficial pointers including cutting down on sugar, the importance of exercising and reducing stress while providing suitable explanations for all.

Earlier, Sara Ali Khan too had broken the taboo around it and spoken about her struggles with PCOS on Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee With Karan.
