The Bollywood star will be seen playing the character that was originally played by Robert De Niro; Deepika to play Anne Hathaway’s character in the Hindi remake of the movie
After co-starring in films like Piku and Aarakshan, and teaming up for the South sci-fi thriller Prabhas-21, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan are set to share screen space once again in the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood flick The Intern. The 2015 Hollywood film directed by Nancy Meyers, had starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.
Deepika shared a poster featuring the silhouettes of the senior star and herself. Calling Bachchan her most ‘special co-star’ Deepika posted: “What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again!💛 Welcoming @amitabhbachchan to the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern.”
To be directed by Amit Sharma (of Badhaai Ho fame), the film is being co-produced by Deepika alongwith Sunir Kheterpal in association with Warner Bros India.
Among the messages that poured in, were that of Ranveer Singh who wrote; “Love it! AB and DP together are simply magic!!!”
