Dhadak trailer is “Desi(ly)” Endearing!

The slight nasal twang to Jhanvi Kapoor’s dialogues dipped in local Rajasthani lingo, her limpid eyes that speak (reminiscent of her mother, the late Sridevi Kapoor), Ishan Khattar’s raw, boyish charm brimming with the innocence of young love – replete with  decadent Rajasthan as a backdrop – the Dhadak trailer shows all the makings of a classic love story.
The ‘Englishly’ translated song ‘How do I tell you’ ( Kaise Batayein) from Ranbir Kapoor’s Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahaani  lends to the fun/romance/humour. So do the costumes in bright flowing chiffon leheriyas, tie and dye dupattas and more. The Sairat music directors Ajay- Atul recreate the same magic in Dhadak.
Karan Johar’s wizardry when it comes to spotting, grooming and launching talent is spot on.
The director Shashank Khaitan of Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya and Badrinath ki Dulhaniya fame known for his rugged romances, bases the film on the Marathi superhit Sairat.
Naturally then, the Dhadak trailer raises expectations! Waiting for July 20th!
