Bollywood’s biggest superstar Amitabh Bachchan gave tribute to the late Krishna Raj Kapoor, wife of legendary Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor. Krishna Raj passed away on Monday at 87 due to cardiac arrest.
Paying homage to the departed soul, Big B wrote on his blog, “Krishna Raj Kapoor… The matriarch of the family… The epitome of grace and dignity… Gentle and loving to all… Caring… Faultless in etiquette and family protocol… She kept this vast family of celebrated individuals together as one bond,”
Amitabh Bachchan further even penned down Krishna Raj’s famous lines which was an important advice to women everywhere. He quoted her as, “When you shall go as a bride into your husband’s home, you must decide whether you want to carry scissors with you or a pair of knitting needles… Scissors symbolising the cutting of relations in the new home and family; knitting needles, to knit the family together…”
Krishna Raj’s last rites were held at Chembur crematorium which were performed by her sons Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor in the presence of their family members including grandchildren Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Karisma Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rima Jain’s children Aadar Jain and Armaan Jain along with Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan Kapoor.
