Special sets to be erected for the final schedule of Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan

Following the global corononavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, several films had to be put on hold including many that were close to completion. One of them is Ayan Mukerji’s highly-anticipated Brahmastra, (Part One of the planned trilogy) which is now racing towards meeting a tentative December 4, 2020 release date deadline. However, the release date may be subject to change given the on-going COVID-19 situation.

Work on the post-production of the mega mythological fantasy starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia, and Mouni Roy is already underway in full swing since the lockdown was eased out. And while the leading pair Ranbir and Alia has already started dubbing for the film, as per reports, they will resume shooting for the final schedule and some special segments related to the film only in October. Buzz is that the makers are setting up special sets in a Mumbai studio for it and they are likely to shoot a special song too. All in all, it’s expected to be a 10 to 14 days of shoot and patch work to be filmed. Amitabh Bachchan too is likely to be a part of these shoots. Reportedly, the makers will be releasing a series of special videos close to the film’s release date. The cast of the film is expected to reunite for this segment of the shoot.

The film was first announced on October 11, 2017 on Twitter by producer Karan Johar, while the prep began in January 2018. The film has been shot across Bulgaria, London, Scotland, New York, Mumbai and Varanasi. The makers revealed the title logo of the film on March 4, 2019 on Maha Shivratri at the Kumbh Mela with 150 drones lighting up the sky to form the logo. Initially, it was rumoured to be a superhero film, which the makers denied. Buzz is that it revolves around a fantasy love story with a mythological tale of Shiva and strong elements of action and supernatural weaved in.
