Bollywood Hotspot: 5 Latest movies that were shot in Scotland!

Bollywood has always had a perpetual love story with the cities of Scotland. Whether it’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, or Mausam, the picturesque fields, castles, and towns of Scotland make the movies a treat for the eyes. Keeping up with this love affair, here are 5 recent movies that were shot in the scenic locations of Scotland. 

Badla (2019):

The crime-drama thriller starring Tapsee Pannu, Amrita Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan was shot in various cities of Scotland, like Glasgow and Aviemore. Throughout the movie, you’ll see beautiful and iconic locations like the 150-year-old cast, The Overtoun House in Scotland, and the South Portland Sea Suspension Bridge. Along with the phenomenal acting, these beautiful locations are a reason to watch this movie. 

Taish (2020):

Bejoy Nambiar’s story of rage, love, and revenge was shot partly in the United Kingdom. A car chase shot in Steven Spielberg’s style was shot in the streets of Birmingham. Harshvardhan Rane was in the UK for 2 months shooting at the Shepton Mallet Prison in England, which is a haunted prison that’s nearly 400 years old and was in use till 2013. In fact, the actor even took home a prison uniform as a souvenir! 

Baar Baar Dekho (2016):

The Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Malhotra starrer was shot in many scenic locations including Glasgow and Scotland along with Thailand and Delhi. The timeless love story was shot in Scotland for over a month. You can see many scenic locations of Glasgow in the movie. 

Tum Bin 2 (2016):

Braving very cold weather and harsh winds, Anubhav Sinha’s love story starring Neha Sharma and Aashim Gulati was shot in Glasgow, Scotland, and Edinburgh. The quaint fields, misty mountains, and picturesque locations added an extra level of romanticism to the movie. One of the movie’s scenes was shot exactly where Daniel Craig’s Skyfall was shot. 

Bell Bottom (2021):

The Akshay Kumar starrer was one of the first movies to begin shooting again after the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus. The movie recently finished shooting in Glasgow at the end of September. Akshay Kumar who has a rule of working 8 hours a day broke it and worked double shifts to ensure that the movie gets done filming in time. The upcoming spy thriller is all set to hit the theatres in April 2021 along with stunning visuals of Scotland and London.
