GLOBAL WIN: Huma Qureshi’s Bayaan premieres at 30th Busan International Film Festival; honoured with Asia Star Award 2025!

After a remarkable reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, where her latest film Bayaan made waves with audiences and critics alike, Huma Qureshi has now brought the film to the prestigious 30th Busan International Film Festival.

At BIFF 2025, Huma was also felicitated at Marie Claire’s Asia Star Award ceremony with the Face of Asia award recognising her stellar contribution to cinema globally and her impactful journey as an actress in Bollywood.

Receiving the honour, Huma delivered an emotional speech reflecting on her roots and her journey: “For a little girl who grew up in a middle-class family in New Delhi, whose father was born in Nizamuddin Basti and whose mother was born in a village in Kashmir, I was always told that acting or even thinking of becoming an actress was not for someone like me. So, to be here and to receive this is validation not just for me, but for all those little girls out there who have been told that certain things are not for them. This is for all the little girls who dare to dream and who don’t take no for an answer.”

With Bayaan continuing its journey across international festivals, this milestone further cements actress Huma Qureshi’s standing as one of India’s most versatile and globally celebrated performers!
