Priyanka Sarkar is the Chief Executive and Designer of the House of Biori. A designer by heart (and training), retailer by mind and omnipreneur by choice!
She is an entrepreneurial-driven senior management professional with over 17 years of career in the Fashion Retail Industry that reflects an exceptional record of achievements in delivering strong market oriented product performance (apparel and accessories) and operational results across India, GCC and KSA.
International experience includes working, traveling, and conducting business and supply chain in the Middle East, UK, Europe and the Far East regions. Priyanka is also associated with a few institutes/universities in Dubai where she teaches Fashion and Retail Industry based course contents to students and professionals.

Q1. Which Bollywood actress would you like to style and why?
That’s a tough one as there are quite a few who are breaking the norms quite diligently making it all look so effortless and chic at the same time. Actually, the pat should be given on their stylist’s back for doing such a fab job on every appearance. Given a choice, Biori would love to be the jewelry fix for Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt and Tapsee Pannu to name a few.
Q2. Have you come across a customer who says she is looking for jewelry her favourite celeb wore? If yes, share the experience.
Social media is spreading in an instantaneous way that reflects an image, an idea, a reason or a product. In general, consumers’ perceptions and intentions to buy a product is related to its characteristics or to imitate a personal figure that is using it. Celebrities are perceived as icons by others for their prosperity and acclaim in various fields. The latter might explain why such a large portion of the society try to impersonate them which makes “Celebrity Endorsement” in itself such a compelling force in the advertising and promotion world.
Biori focusses on creating meaningful, contemporary and eclectic designs that can be worn and cherished across ages so the clientele we deal with comes with an inherent appetite of embracing one’s own individuality rather than trying to look and feel like someone else. And in the process, if there are like minds who tend to vibe, so be it!
Q3. Which Bollywood star has the best jewelry sense and why?
It has to be a tie between Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. There is literally no look that they cant carry. Whether its experimental, street casual, boho chic, modern twist, traditional heirloom or day to night, both can adorn the looks effortlessly in style!
Q4. Why should every girl wear a piece of jewelry – Gold or Silver?
Jewelry has the power to be this one little thing that can make you feel completely unique.
One aspect of jewelry that makes it completely different and much more special than anything else in the fashion industry is that jewelry doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t matter what size, shape or skin color someone is, they can always find something unique and beautiful that suits them! With jewelry there isn’t a sizing chart, people aren’t labeled by a single number. If there is a piece that someone loves they will not be turned away because it’s “not the right size” or “doesn’t fit their body type” they will be able to wear whatever they want and feel beautiful in whatever jewelry they pick out! And when the same is worn out of a precious metal like silver or gold, it only enhances the value, both emotionally and financially making the piece a treasured one!
