Irrfan Khan is currently in the UK seeking treatment as he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. He is undergoing treatment since March this year. Earlier, there were reports that the Piku actor will be returning to India post-Diwali this year. However, as reported by a leading daily in India, Irrfan will be celebrating Diwali this year in India only. As per the reports, Irrfan will be celebrating Diwali with his family at his Nashik farmhouse.
“Irrfan and his family are planning to celebrate Diwali at their Nashik farmhouse. It will be a 10-day trip after which he will return to the UK for his ongoing treatment,” a source close to the family told the tabloid. When the tabloid tried to contact Irrfan’s wife Sutapa, they got no response from her. The source further added, “He is yet to be given a clean chit by his doctors on whether he can start full-fledged work. The doctors are hopeful that he can return to the set by March. But he will have to follow the guidelines that his oncologists give him. The biopic will have to be divided into shorter schedules.”
Once Irrfan Khan returns to India, he will start shooting for Hindi Medium 2. The film also reportedly stars Sara Ali Khan as his daughter. Post that, he will be working with Shoojit Sircar’s Uddhan Singh biopic. Also, he will be also working with Deepika Padukone in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Sapna Didi. Vishal earlier said in an interview that he will start working on the film in mid-2019.
