Thrilled by the success of Vidyut Jammwal’s recent OTT action-caper Khuda Haafiz, the makers are readying for the film’s sequel tentatively titled Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2.
Following the amazing response the Vidyut Jammwal film Khuda Haafiz is garnering since its release on the OTT platform, director-writer Faruk Kabir and producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak have announced their plans of a sequel. Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 will once again star the lead pair of Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi and is expected to go on floors early next year (2021).
Khuda Haafiz that was meant for a theatrical release this year had been moved to an OTT release following the global pandemic and the action film recently premiered on August 14 on Disney+ Hotstar. But despite a digital release, the action-thriller has been widely-appreciated, both for the action sequences as well as the gripping performances by the entire star-cast including Vidyut, Shivaleeka, Shiv Panditt, Aahana Kumra, Nawab Shah and the stalwart Anu Kapoor. The film revolved around a newly-wed much-in-love couple Sameer and Nargis (played by Vidyut and Shivaleeka). When Nargis becomes a victim of human-trafficking in a foreign land, Sameer goes all out to save his wife and get her back to India.
And while excited with the acclaim the film has been getting, the makers now wish to recreate its success with the sequel, they do hope that Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 will have a theatrical release unlike its predecessor. The director Faruk Kabir is said to be working on the sequel already and hopes that they can start shoot in the first quarter of 2021.
