MOVIE UPDATE: Akshay Kumar to NOT Headline Bollywood Remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunam with Dil Raju and Anees Bazmee; Here’s why!

Akshay Kumar was said to be a part of the Bollywood remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunam. While the reports of the news were widespread, a source close to a leading entertainment portal stated that the actor will not headline the film or collaborate with filmmakers Dil Raju and Anees Bazmee for its Hindi remake.

For the unversed, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is a Telugu-language movie starring Venkatesh Daggubati, and it was initially speculated to be remade in Hindi, with Anees Bazmee at the helm. Akshay Kumar had watched the film a long time ago as a cinema lover, but he has no intention of remaking it in Hindi. Meanwhile, Akshay and Anees Bazmee are in talks for a potential collaboration for a new project.

“Akshay has multiple films lined up, including Haiwaan, Bhagam Bhaag 2, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3, along with a couple of other projects that are being kept under wraps. He had seen the Venkatesh film a while back as a cinema lover, but he’s not doing the Hindi remake. In fact, he has been meeting Anees Bazmee for another collaboration!” – A source.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is currently working on two more projects that are kept under wraps for now. Recently, he was seen in Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi. The legal comedy drama marked the third installment in the franchise, with both talented actors reprising their memorable roles. Next, he is geared up to star in the horror-comedy film, Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan.
