The Super Mario Galaxy Movie takes over the UAE and KSA. The epic Mario universe expands beyond the Mushroom Kingdom this spring as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives in cinemas across the region on April 1. To mark the release, a series of immersive experiences will take place across the UAE and KSA – bringing Mario’s world to life from city streets to iconic skylines.

In the UAE, Dubai becomes part of the adventure with a city-wide takeover. In a regional first, The Dubai Metro will be transformed into a Super Mario Galaxy-themed experience, transporting commuters into Mario’s cosmic world. Featuring vibrant, galaxy-inspired visuals and familiar characters, the journey invites fans to step inside the story as they move through the city, with additional train branding extending the experience across multiple routes.

At VOX Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates, the takeover continues across opening weekend with a full cinema experience. Every hour, lights dim and a Super Mario Galaxy projection appears overhead, immersing visitors in a dynamic, intergalactic environment inspired by the film.

In KSA, Riyadh brings its own playful spin to the experience. At VOX Cinemas, Roshn Front, fans can take part in an interactive Mystery Box activation, scanning a QR code to guess what’s inside for the chance to win exclusive prizes. Launching from 31 March, the experience builds anticipation ahead of release, inviting audiences to engage with Mario’s world in a fun and unexpected way.
Meanwhile, one of Jeddah’s most recognisable landmarks, King’s Road Tower, will light up with Super Mario Galaxy visuals, bringing Mario and his universe to the skyline in a bold, unmissable display.

Produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, the animated adventure reunites iconic characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser, while introducing fan favourites including Bowser Jr. and Rosalina.

The voice cast sees the return of Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. New additions include Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie expands the universe introduced in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which released in 2023 and grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide. This new chapter sees Mario venture beyond the familiar Mushroom Kingdom, embarking on a cosmic journey through intergalactic worlds and facing thrilling new challenges across the universe.
Inspired by the acclaimed 2007 video game Super Mario Galaxy and Nintendo’s wider Mario franchise, the film expands the cinematic world introduced in 2023, taking audiences on a galaxy-spanning adventure through imaginative new worlds filled with allies, rivals and surprises.
