According to Birmingham Live, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise seems to love Indian food. The Top Gun actor spent two hours at Asha’s at 12-22 Newhall Street on Saturday night, August 21, while taking a break from shooting Mission: Impossible 7 in the Midlands. Asha’s general manager Nouman Farooqui was delighted when his all-time favourite, real-life action man loved his chicken tikka masala so much that he ordered a second portion.
The group was even happy to sit on a table in the middle of the restaurant. Their meal was so low key that not everybody inside Asha’s recognised him or was aware they were dining so close to Hollywood royalty.
“Another dish enjoyed by the party – believed to include Fallout film director Christopher McQuarrie who also wrote The Usual Suspects (1995) – was said to have been palak paneer (cottage cheese and spinach).”
