It’s not been even a full year since her Hindi debut, and Sonam has already had a successful year at the box office with Deewaniyat and her recent release Border 2.

Sonam made her debut with Housefull 5 last year, starring in an ensemble cast. The fifth instalment of the longest running film franchise in India made over ₹200 crore, giving a strong start to the actress in Hindi films. On Diwali 2025, Sonam showed her strength as a leading lady as she starred in an intense romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat which emerged as one of the most successful Hindi films of the year. It crossed ₹100 crore worldwide, giving her two films in one year crossing the milestone.

Starting 2026 with a bang, Sonam featured opposite Diljit Dosanjh in the war drama Border 2. The much-anticipated sequel to the 1997 film crossed ₹100 crore at the box office in the opening weekend itself. Not just that, the film has been receiving rave reviews, with special mention to Sonam and Diljit’s chemistry which brings a soft touch to the intense war drama. Border 2 is on its way to a successful run with the positive word-of-mouth driving up the business.

With these three successes, Sonam has got a unique record to her name, starring in three films crossing ₹100 crore at the box office within a year of her debut. She is slowly becoming the lucky charm and a box office favourite. As for her latest release, with the pace that it is going on, Border 2 is expected to break more box office records in the coming days, especially with no big releases scheduled at least for the next three weeks.
