Kanika Kapoor has received a Grammy nomination as part of the musical project Sounds of Kumbha, which has been shortlisted in the prestigious Best Global Music Album category at the 68th Grammy Awards. One of India’s most celebrated playback and independent singers, Kanika is known globally for her distinct voice, versatility, and artistic evolution. From Bollywood blockbusters to international collaborations, she continues to push creative boundaries, representing India on the world music stage.
The album, inspired by India’s iconic Maha Kumbh Mela, features Kanika Kapoor as the voice of its main title track, “Maha Kumbh.” Her powerful vocal interpretation forms the sonic identity of the album — a spiritually charged anthem that sets the tone for the project.
Produced by Siddhant Bhatia, Sounds of Kumbha brings together more than 50 Indian and international musicians, blending ancient mantras, traditional instrumentation, and modern sound design to capture the scale and divinity of the world’s largest spiritual congregation.
