Michelin Guide Dubai 2026: Full List of 20 Star Restaurants

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 ceremony at Atlantis The Royal

The Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 names 20 starred restaurants, with FZN and Trèsind Studio holding three stars and Orfali Bros rising to two. Here is the full list, plus every new Bib Gourmand and special award.

The Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 keeps three stars for FZN by Björn Frantzén and Trèsind Studio, promotes Orfali Bros to two stars, and adds Birch and Kigo as new one-star restaurants. The fifth Dubai edition was unveiled at Atlantis The Royal on Tuesday 6 October 2026.

In total, 20 restaurants hold stars: two with three, four with two and 14 with one. Four of the starred venues are temporarily closed but kept their distinctions, a decision that drew criticism from Dubai’s food community.

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026: three-star restaurants

  • FZN by Björn Frantzén, known for Scandinavian cooking with Asian influences
  • Trèsind Studio, chef Himanshu Saini’s modern Indian tasting room

Both restaurants first reached three stars in 2025, when Dubai gained its first top-tier tables. Khaleej Times notes that Trèsind Studio became the first and only Indian restaurant in the world with three stars that year, a distinction it has now held for a second edition.

For the Gulf’s large Indian community, that is a real point of pride: a modern Indian kitchen in Dubai sits at the very top of the Michelin scale, level with a European heavyweight.

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026: two-star restaurants

  • Il Ristorante-Niko Romito
  • Orfali Bros (promoted from one star)
  • Row on 45
  • STAY by Yannick Alléno

Orfali Bros is the headline promotion of the night. Run by brothers Mohammad, Wassim and Omar Orfali, it started out as a Bib Gourmand, won its first star two years ago and now joins the two-star tier.

Inspectors said it had grown “from a brilliant neighbourhood bistro into a flagship of Middle Eastern gastronomy”. Its cooking draws on the brothers’ Aleppian, Armenian and Turkish heritage, and the guide singled out its signature dishes and Voyage tasting menu. According to Khaleej Times, Mohammad Orfali dedicated the award to young Arab chefs.

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026: the 14 one-star restaurants

  • 11 Woodfire
  • Al Muntaha (temporarily closed)
  • Avatara
  • Birch (new)
  • Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (temporarily closed)
  • Hakkasan Dubai
  • Hoseki
  • Jamavar
  • Kigo (new)
  • Manao
  • Moonrise
  • Ossiano (temporarily closed)
  • Smoked Room (temporarily closed)
  • Tasca by José Avillez

Indian cooking is well represented at this level too. Avatara, which serves vegetarian Indian tasting menus, and Jamavar both keep their stars, so three of the 20 starred restaurants are Indian.

The two new one-star restaurants

Birch is led by chef Arslan Berdiev, whose Turkmen roots and travels shape a contemporary menu built on top-quality produce, including Uzbek tomatoes. The guide also highlighted its open kitchen and a hanging installation that resembles birch bark, and inspectors described a meal there as “a true culinary journey”.

Kigo is a Japanese fine-dining restaurant offering seasonal cooking in two formats: a sushi omakase at the counter or a kaiseki menu at the table. Michelin praised its “subtle sense of theatre”, and its team also took home the Service Award.

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 Bib Gourmands

The Bib Gourmand rewards good cooking at more accessible prices. Four restaurants joined the list this year:

  • Middle Child: a relaxed Italian bistro and deli where diners can browse cookbooks
  • S.E.A Bistrot: chef Shane’s bold Asian cooking, with a cult following for its mango sticky rice and milk cake
  • Three Bros: the sister restaurant to Orfali Bros, with dishes drawn from the brothers’ childhood and travels
  • Yubi Dubai: Japanese hand rolls made to order at the counter, with homemade pickles and condiments

They join 18 returning Bib Gourmands: 21 Grams, 3Fils, Al Khayma Heritage Restaurant, Bait Maryam, Berenjak, Duo Gastrobar at Creek Harbour and at Dubai Hills, Goldfish, Harummanis, Hawkerboi, Khadak, Kinoya, Konjiki Hototogisu, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki at Dar Wasl and at Dubai Hills, Revelry, Shabestan and Sufret Maryam.

Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 special awards

  • Young Chef Award: Rémy Marquignon, executive chef of Ossiano, for modern cooking rooted in classic French technique
  • Sommelier Award: Ninad Jani of Avatara, for approachable service and pairings with vegetarian Indian food
  • Service Award: Akinori Tanigawa and the Kigo team
  • Exceptional Cocktails Award: Zahra Erfanian Azmoodeh of Carbone Dubai
  • Opening of the Year: Gonzalo Platero and Window, a wood-fired restaurant at Alserkal Avenue

Carbone Dubai and Window are both among this year’s 13 new Michelin Selected entries, alongside Barrafina Dubai and China Tang Dubai.

Why closed restaurants kept their stars

Four starred restaurants are temporarily closed: Al Muntaha, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Ossiano and Smoked Room. The National reports that several high-profile venues have paused because of softer demand and tourism disruption following the Iran war.

Dubai food writer Samantha Wood, founder of FooDiva, questioned why at least ten closed restaurants appear across the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 lists. Michelin told Gulf News that the distinctions were “maintained based on our most recent assessments” and that inspectors will revisit each restaurant once it reopens.

What changed in the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026

The guide has grown quickly since its 2022 launch, when 11 Dubai restaurants held stars. That rose to 14 in 2023 and 19 in 2024 and 2025, and now stands at 20. Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides, said the selection has nearly doubled in size since its first edition.

By our count, the 20 starred restaurants hold 28 stars between them, two more than last year, thanks to the promotion of Orfali Bros and the two new entries.

How to book a starred table

One star means a restaurant is worth a stop, two stars worth a detour and three stars worth a special journey. Inspectors judge every table on five criteria: ingredients, technique, harmony of flavours, the chef’s personality and consistency.

Book through each restaurant’s own channels, and check that a temporarily closed venue has reopened before planning a celebration around it. The official Michelin Guide website and its free app list every restaurant in the selection.
