As the holy month approaches, the UAE has officially announced the working hours for the public sector, giving employees more hours for worshiping and of course, the much-awaited Iftar feasts. With shorter shifts and a focus on balance, the workdays just got lighter—because during Ramadan, it’s all about spiritual productivity over hurly-burly culture.
Monday to Thursday – 9 AM to 2:30 PM
Friday – 9 AM to 12 PM
Up to 70% of the total workforce is allowed to work remotely on Fridays, following the approved guidelines. Employees will work 3.5 hours less from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays the working hours are reduced to 1.5 hours.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced on Sunday that exceptions apply for employees whose roles require different working hours.
The adjusted working hours will be implemented after sighting of the moon which is most likely to commence on 1st March, Saturday.
