Tell us about your early years and what shaped your entrepreneurial mindset.

Growing up in a tight-knit defence family in a small town taught me the true meaning of grit and adaptability. Following my MBA from Gwalior, I built a versatile career in Mumbai’s fast-paced corporate world. Working across distinct sectors like media, chemicals, and telecommunications, I’ve always been driven by a passion for continuous learning and a willingness to tackle new challenges head-on. 

Your career began outside fashion. How did that transition happen?

My professional journey started in technology and project management. I earned SAP certifications and worked in IT. Where I was involved in large-scale application testing projects. Learning has always been important to me, so I continued upgrading my skills through certifications such as PMP and Scrum Master. Every role taught me something valuable about problem-solving, systems, and scaling operations—skills that later became crucial in entrepreneurship.

What inspired you to start Prasha Lifestyle?

The idea was born during the pandemic. I’ve always loved shopping and discovering unique products. I noticed a gap in the market for authentic handcrafted products and started with just one category—traditional juttis. I began participating in exhibitions across Dubai to understand customer preferences firsthand. The response encouraged me to expand into jewellery and clothing. What started as a small venture gradually evolved into something much bigger.

Was the journey smooth from the beginning?

Our launch trajectory was far from linear. Initial projections fell short, resulting in near-zero online sales for the first six months. This critical phase tested our strategic patience and forced deep self-reflection. However, leveraging this as a proof point for agility, we adapted rather than conceded. We systematically overhauled our product offerings, optimized the customer journey, and scaled our digital marketing presence to turn the tide.

What were the turning points for the business?

We didn’t just wait for growth; we built the foundation for it. In March 2023, we reinforced our talent pool with critical additions that immediately picked up our pace. By 2024, we tackled our tech stack, migrating to Shopify to gain the scalability and operational efficiency we had been missing. The payoff was immediate. During that year’s Diwali season, our digital storefront faced its first true high-volume test—and thrived—shattering our previous sales milestones and proving that our strategy was rock solid.

Prasha Lifestyle has grown rapidly in a short period. What drove that growth?

Customer trust has been the biggest driver of Prasha Lifestyle’s growth. We started with a small selection of products and gradually expanded into a diverse catalogue serving the entire family. From day one, our focus has been on offering variety, convenience, and value. As a result, by 2025 we were processing hundreds of orders every day. One of our proudest milestones has been achieving nearly a 50% repeat customer rate during festive seasons like Diwali and Eid. For us, repeat purchases are the strongest indicator that customers value our products, service, and overall shopping experience. 

What role does technology play in your business strategy?

Technology is at the core of our business strategy. My background in project management has shaped a data-driven and process-oriented approach to building the company. We use technology not only to improve operational efficiency but also to create a better customer experience at every stage of the shopping journey.

Today, I’m particularly excited about the potential of artificial intelligence. AI enables us to deliver more personalized product recommendations, automate routine operations, optimize inventory, and provide faster, more responsive customer support. These innovations allow us to scale efficiently while maintaining high service standards.

At the same time, we believe technology should enhance—not replace—the human element. Building trust, understanding customer needs, and delivering genuine value remain at the heart of the Prasha Lifestyle experience. Our goal is to combine cutting-edge technology with a customer-first approach to create a seamless and enjoyable shopping journey

You often speak about supporting women in business. Why is that important to you?

Prasha Lifestyle  is a proudly bootstrapped company, so I deeply understand the resilience, determination, and perseverance it takes to build a business from the ground up. Supporting women in business has always been a personal priority because I believe empowering women creates stronger organizations and more inclusive workplaces. Today, women make up a significant part of our workforce, and we are committed to providing equal opportunities for leadership, skill development, and career growth. I firmly believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation, foster better decision-making, and strengthen businesses. Q: What keeps you motivated as an entrepreneur?

Entrepreneurship is a journey of continuous learning—there’s no perfect roadmap to success. My own path has included career breaks, transitions across industries, relocating to new countries, and starting over more than once. Each experience, whether challenging or rewarding, has shaped my perspective and strengthened my resilience. Every setback became an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. My philosophy is simple: trust your instincts, start with what feels right, embrace learning at every stage, and stay committed to your vision. Success isn’t about having all the answers from the beginning—it’s about having the courage to keep moving forward with purpose and perseverance.

Our focus is on growing thoughtfully while continuing to enhance the customer experience at every touchpoint. We aim to strengthen our presence across the GCC, embrace evolving technologies, and further establish Prasha Lifestyle as a trusted destination for fashion and lifestyle. At the same time, we remain committed to innovation, quality, and understanding the changing needs of our customers.
