95th ACADEMY AWARDS: RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ brings home the Oscar!

The soundtrack by MM Keeravani wins the Best Original Song Award at the 95th Academy Awards; RRR creates history by becoming the first Indian feature film to win an Oscar

SS Rajamouli’s RRR has done it again! The film starring Ram Charan and NTR Jr has created history by becoming the first Indian feature film to win an Oscar. The film’s hit soundtrack ‘Naatu Naatu’ composed by MM Keeravani has been awarded the Best Original Song Award at the 95th Academy Awards being held in Los Angeles.

The song was in competition against ‘Applause’ from Tell It Like A Woman, ‘Hold My Hand’ from Top Gun: Maverick, ‘Lift Me Up’ from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and ‘This is Life’ from Everything Everywhere All At Once.

MM Keeravani, along with lyricist Chandrabose, collected the award. Also in attendance at the Oscars were the film’s leads, Ram Charan and NTR Jr.

Meanwhile Guneet Monga’s The Elephant Whisperers has also won an Oscar!
