Are ruffles and fringes on dresses coming back? B-town actresses set the trend

Time to twirl!

Perhaps the most feminine of all embellishments are ruffles and fringes. Our most recent sighting of ruffles was at the fashion week in Mumbai, a fortnight ago. Ranna Gill’s showstopper, Karisma Kapoor walked the ramp in a dress with the veteran designer’s signature floral aesthetic.

There’s just something about the voluminous texture that ruffles lend to the silhouette, and the festivity that fringes bring to a dress. In the recent few weeks, we spotted several Bollywood celebs in ruffles and fringes, ranging from saris to dresses. We suspect a trend is on the brink of blowing up!

Sobhita Dhulipala wore this zingy number during her rounds of promotion for The Night manager. Honestly, if it were us, we wouldn’t be able to resist dancing in this Zabella dress either.

Shanaya Kapoor draped a classic Arpita Mehta sari with ruffles at the bottom. We love this as a measured way to sport the ruffles, where they aren’t in your face, but you can still enjoy twirling in them.

Earlier in the month, Malaika Arora and designer Gaurav Gupta created magic, by way of this white sari heaving on the ruffles.
