The trailer of the highly anticipated mytho horror Maa, starring Kajol has already sent a chill down our spine. Maa is a first of its kind mythological horror deeply rooted in the ancient tale of Maa Kali and her strength and how she is the ultimate protector. R Madhavan aka Shaitaan made a surprise appearance at the trailer launch event of the film, introducing this much-awaited mythological horror set in the world of Shaitaan. Check out the trailer:

Talking about her own love for Maa Kali, Kajol shared how it was one of the driving forces for her to get on board for the movie.
“What hit me the most was and I wanted to do the movie because of Maa Kali. I love her and she is Maa in my head and I always felt like her hand is on my head. She is always behind me and that was one of the reasons why I adored the script and of course the script was excellent. When we first heard the script we were sure it was going to be a fantastic film.” – Kajol
Meanwhile, R Madhavan revealed how he was spooked out during shooting certain scenes in Shaitaan. His character had stolen the spotlight and given us sleepless haunting nights.
“The scene where I make the daughter dance the entire night and she cant hold her bladder any more and she pees. So as a villain if I see it the entire messaging changes so I had to think what can I do differently and change the feeling into disgust. So I covered my face with a sheet so I didn’t have to see it. So there were certain scenes that made me uncomfortable but I did find my way out of it.” – R Madhavan
Kajol and R Madhavan also spoke about the common Ajay Devgn connection and appreciated Ajay for his professionalism and the unbeatable aura he has. Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, Maa is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The film is set for a theatrical release on 27th June 2025.
