Eye (Spa)y

The lockdown has moved our complete focus on online content and use. Be it for work or entertainment, our computers, phones and TV screens are where we are always glued on these days. And bearing the brunt of the endless screen-time are our eyes that we are these days putting an excessive strain on! Yes, you’re straining them even as you read this article.
But hey, don’t stop now. We’re going to give you some tips to rest and relax those peepers every once in a while. Here’s how you can take care of your precious eyes:

Blink!
Can you believe that we stop doing something as simple as blinking when we are absorbed in something? But it’s the truth! So every time you take a water or washroom break just blink your eyes for a few seconds to a minute. It’ll provide lubrication to the eyes that dry out due to exposure to the screen.

20 Feet Stare
Ideally, you should stare at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes, but if that’s too much commitment, here’s what you can do instead. Stare at something 20 feet away for at least a minute once or twice a day. Try looking at the greens around – the trees, plants, and stretch while you do that. Easy? We hope so.

Cup your Palms on the eye
Whenever it feels like you’ve strained your eyes too much and are on the verge of a debilitating headache, cup your palms on your eyes and sit for some time. You can also make your palms warm by rubbing them together and then cup them. The darkness will help relax, rejuvenate, and cool the eyes.

Roll your Eyes
Does a character disappoint you? Roll your eyes! The plot twist is weak? Roll your eyes! Was the movie a complete waste of time? ROLL YOUR EYES! It’s that easy! Do it at least 10 times to completely put your eyes at ease again.

The Thumb Rule
Stick your thumb out and bring it to your nose and focus on it. Now stretch the thumb out to the length of your arm while focusing your eyes on it, then bring it back to your nose the same way. Do it 5-6 times to exercise your eyes.

Wash your eyes
Nothing is as good as the good old water. It refreshes you and your eyes completely. When you feel your eyes burning due to too much activity, just go and splash some water on it. It’ll immediately cool and help relieve the burn.

Catch up on those Zzzs
This is the most basic, try to get at least six to eight hours of healthy sleep. Keep sliced cucumbers on your eyes to help relax. It’ll help reduce the puffiness too.

Simple, but effective! So go ahead and take care of your eyes with these easy steps.
