The Fish Market Seafood Restaurant at Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek offers a sumptuous variety to pamper your taste-buds
Ask any sea-food lover and they will tell you that when it comes to indulging their taste-buds, a fresh catch is top priority! And Fish Market at Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek provides exactly that to its patrons and guests. In fact, the historical restaurant – located at Dubai’s first five-star hotel – ups the dining affair several notches and makes the culinary indulgence an experience to cherish with their fresh market concept. One of the Dubai’s longest standing and oldest eateries, the restaurant is known for serving the freshest, locally and ethically sourced seafood since 1989.
When we visited the restaurant for lunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon, it was easy to see why the restaurant is such a popular spot with the sea-foodies. Having settled into a relaxed spot with a stunning view of the creek, we began with the exciting process of picking our own fish straight off the counters, before weighing them and proceeding to tell the staff our preferred dish! Yes, the restaurant allows you to pick from the fresh catch providing a unique market feel and customize your dish by preparing it perfectly as per your taste requirement. And there’s a huge variety to choose from too – right from the local catch to the most exotic ones like Kenyan lobsters!
For our main course, we picked lobster, prawns, mussels, pomfret and jesh fish. And while we decided on our dishes, the starters were called on – wedges, a peanut salad and a potato salad. Of these, the papaya salad is what we would totally vouch for, as it whetted the appetite for the main course perfectly well.
The main course was just in time as we cleared off the starters. As recommended by the Executive Chef, Diyan De Silva, we had Jesh fish in Thai red curry, Lobster in chilli sauce, prawns in Singaporean sauce, cheese-baked mussels, pomfret in red chilli sauce with seafood garlic rice and some garlic-fried veggies on the side.
Beautifully presented, each dish was just as delicious as it looked. Cooked to perfection, there was not one change we’d have liked made to the dishes. Since the food can completely be customized, we’d opted for it to be medium spiced and the consistency in the taste was refreshing. If we had to pick the best, we’d say… All of it!
Totally worth the pricing, every dish was adequate in quantity and the food served four comfortably. The delectable food was rounded off with the tempting eye-candy dessert – Crispy tacos. Under-laid with sprinkled sugar, they were topped with the freshest berries. Light and fresh, it was just perfect after the heavenly meal.
The restaurant scores high on just about all aspects. The open-spaced ambience is relaxing and comfortable. The service is prompt and generous with their recommendations, and the food is simply delightful with good enough quantities! The produce is so fresh that there’s not a whiff of it in the air.
On the downside, since the restaurant is strictly for sea-food eaters, the accompanying vegetarians may find themselves out of place with a limited choice available when it comes to veg dishes. Although on the plus side, the veggies are just as handsomely prepared and just as yummy as the non-veg counterparts!
