Kangana Ranaut has been in the headlines since the time she offered a disputable comment against the progressing farmers protest. The actress’ comment about a lady who was participating in the ongoing protest didn’t go down well with Diljit Dosanjh who took to his Twitter handle to get answers from the Manikarnika actress which thus prompted a battle of words between the two celebs. Their furore raised over tweets grabbed a lot of attention from people across the country and saw a major population trying to learn Punjabi in span of one day.
The bickering on social media started after the Queen actress mistook an elderly Sikh woman from the farmers protest to be Bilkis Bano from Shaheen Bagh to which the Punjabi actor-singer sharing a video confirming the identity of the woman.
However, Kangana did delete her tweet about the Sikh woman, later identified to be in fact Mahinder Kaur but further replying to Diljit’s comment the actress called him Karan Johar’s ‘bootlicker’, whereas the singer constantly kept asking her to come back to the topic.
Celebrities like Mika Singh, Swara Bhaskar and Priyanka Chopra came out in the support of singer and what followed was a lot of people expressing their difficulties in understanding Punjabi and wanting to learn the language to understand what exactly Diljit said.
