Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited Master will now be available on Netflix for fans to stream! The drama thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was all set to release on the big screen in January 2021. However, fans are shocked by the new development involving the famous OTT platform and the theatre release is now unsure.
Reports suggest that the movie’s streaming rights were sold for a huge amount to Netflix by Master’s distributor, Lalit Kumar, of Seven Screen Studios. Earlier, director Lokesh Kanagaraj had stated that Vijay’s Master will only release in theatres. Fans of the movie have mixed reactions with this current development, with some disappointed about not being able to see Master on the big screen while some feeling excited.
On November 14, the movie’s teaser released on Youtube creating a maddening rage on the internet and among fans. The teaser recently hit 40 million views on the platform.
Master will also star Andhaghaaram fame Arjun Das along with Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, and Shanthanu Bhagyara in lead roles. Produced by Xavier Britto, the movie’s music will be by Anirudh Ravichander in what is his second collaboration with superstar Vijay. After Master, Vijay will be seen in his 65th movie, for which pre-production has already begun.
