One of the hottest stars of the small screen Rithvik Dhanjani is a man on a mission these days. The actor who will soon be seen in the web-series Cartel shared that the team was midway into filming the web-series when the lockdown was declared. “We have actually shot more than half of the series, and we were on the last leg of the shoot when the lockdown was announced. So there’s only 10-15 days of shooting work that’s left, which we will start as soon as it is feasible,” says Rithvik.
However, during the lockdown the actor and his co-stars of the web-series Tanuj Virwani and Jitendra Joshi alongwith their art director Suyash Vadhavkar, together kickstarted a short animated series called JO MO FO on their social media that centres around three guys who end up doing exactly what they should not be doing. Interestingly, the animated series have become quite a hit already. Talking about it Rithvik reveals the actual purpose of starting the animated series. The star says, “So, during the lockdown, we all had the same intention that we all wanted to join hands and do something to help the society in whatever way we could and do our bit to kind of chip in during this moment of crisis. So, we all with Suyash came up with the idea of creating this animated series JO MO FO that is being voiced by Tanuj, Jeetu Bhai (Jitendra) and me. It’s basically a short minute-long animated series where these three characters – three bummers rather – Jo, Mo and Fo, basically tell you what you should not be doing.”
Rithvik adds, “The idea behind this was to join hands with some organisations and NGOs (Akshay Patra and GiveIndia) that can reach out to the Covid-affected and help them in whatever way that’s possible. That’s the larger picture. That’s exactly how JO MO FO came about.” Well, here’s hoping that the actor does complete the noble task that he’s set out to do.
