Sunscreen is the most significant part of our skin care routine. Protecting your skin with the sun beating down is rather difficult if your don’t know how to pick your sunscreen lotions, though. So here are some tips to get to know your sunscreens better!
That’s the first thing we do when we buy food products, so why should skin care products be any different? Always keep a check on the expiration date of your sunscreens!
UVA & UVB
Regardless of how much or for how long they affect the skin, both of these sunrays are harmful. Make sure your sunscreen protection that is Broad Spectrum!
This is a regulatory term that means more than of the suncreen stays on your skin and less of it washes off. You may still need to re-apply to be 100% sun safe!
Always keep in mind the SPF rating of your sunscreens and get one with SPF 30 or more. You can easily find this out by checking the back of your lotion’s packaging.
Ingredients to avoid
A lot of chemicals in the sunscreens you use could more often than not be toxic for your skin. Try to keep away from the lotions which contain Oxybenzone, Octocrylene, Parabens, Octinoxate, Homosalate etc.
