Border (1997)
The JP Dutta war-drama pays homage to India’s brave soldiers. Starring a huge ensemble cast of actors including Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna, the film is set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and based on the real events that took place during the Battle of Longewala. The film riding high on patriotism went on to win three National Awards as well as four Filmfare Awards from 11 nominations.
The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002)
This Rajkumar Santoshi film has Ajay Devgn play the great Bhagat Singh, who fought for India’s independence and was hanged to death at the young age of 23, along with his fellow freedom fighters Rajguru and Sukhdev by the British. The film that never fails to bring a tear to the eye, went on to win two National Awards and three Filmfare Awards from eight nominations.
URI: The Surgical Strike (2019)
This Vicky Kaushal starrer highlights the valour and bravery of the Indian Defence Forces. Directed by Aditya Dhar, it is based on the surgical strikes that were carried out by the Indian Army in retaliation of an attack on Uri. The film also stars Yami gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari. It won four National Awards and 12 Filmfare nominations winning four awards.
