Ahead of the Oscars 2023, here’s your marathon watch-list

With the ceremony only a couple of nights away, you better get started!

Of course, all Oscar-nominated films can be slotted as must-see, but we’re being picky and further narrowing down the list for you. We’re rounding up the ones we think are absolute stellar, and insist that you don’t miss them. Here you go:

Everything Everywhere All at Once

We had to start with this one! Michelle Yeoh is finally getting her due and as fans of her work since her Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon days in 2000, we couldn’t be happier. Watch with for Yeoh and all the hype, if nothing else.

We can hear Elvis Presley fans scream in adulation, thanks to Austin Butler’s nomination in the best Actor in a leading role category. His portrayal of the legendary singer is nothing short of fabulous, and it’s a treat to watch the late musician come alive on our screens once again.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Angela Bassett’s incredibly powerful speech at the UN as Queen Ramonda of Wakanda in this MCU film will forever live in our heads rent-free. The scene is goosebumps-inducing, and Bassett’s nomination as the best Actress in Supporting Role is well-deserved.

Top Gun: Maverick

We’ll admit that this Tom Cruise-starrer makes it to this list, under heavy influence of nostalgia. We’ve loved the cocky Maverick since he flew the inverted maneuver with a MiG-28 in Top Gun in 1986. He returns to Maverick – his highest grossing film – with sheer action drama and we can’t help but root for our favourite naval pilot. Top Gun: Maverick is nominated for Best Picture.
