Divyenndu Sharma – who first shot to fame as Liquid with his Bollywood debut Pyar Ka Punchnama – is once again making waves. This time as the feared gangster Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur. And while the versatile actor has portrayed a variety of roles through his screen journey, the one thing that has stood out in most of his roles is the strong element of bromance he shares with his co-stars. Right from Pyar Ka Punchnama (with Kartik Aryan) to Chashme Baddoor (with Ali Zafar) and from Batti Gul Meter Chalu (with Shahid Kapoor) to Mirzapur where he was ably supported by his bestie Subodh aka Compounder played by Abhishek Banerjee. All of these screen outings see him share an amazing bromantic equation with his screen friends.
So, when we recently caught up with the actor for an InstaLIVE chat, we couldn’t resist asking him about who his real-life best friend is. And his answer left us pleasantly surprised. Divyenndu revealed that his best friend was none other than his college sweetheart and now wife, Akanksha Sharma. “Well we’ve known each other since college. She was my best friend then and she’s my best friend now,” shared the actor. So she is the real-life Compounder of Munna Bhaiya’s life? “Absolutely,” adds Divyenndu.
The actor is known to fiercely guard his personal life, so this cute revelation did leave us smiling. But we couldn’t help prying a bit more as we asked if she would want to change something about him. To this Divyenndu revealed that the simple fact she’s never wanted him to change in any way is the most beautiful thing about their marriage. “She is really the best ever friend I could ever ask for and we still maintain that we are not just a couple, but friends first. She knows me really well and has never wanted me to change anything about myself. She accepts me just the way I am. I could talk about anything to her and she understands me perfectly well,” shared the actor.
